La Nova Beach
Located in the town centre of Roses, La Nova Beach runs from the Riera Ginjolers jetty to Rec d'en Forquilla. It is a beach about 450 metres long, with fine sand and shallow, clear waters. Next to the beach is the Paseo Marítimo with views of the Bay of Roses. In 2003, this beach obtained the EMAS and ISO 14.001 environmental quality certificate.
Cala Calis
Cala Calís is a small cove located next to Cala Montjoi. It is considered a small extension of the latter, as the only separation is some rocks that protrude from the sea. The seabed has a steep slope. Since 2009 it has had the European EMAS environmental certificate and the international ISO 14.001 certificate.
Cala Calitjàs
Cala Calitjàs is a small cove, 110 m long, 14 km from the centre of Roses, surrounded by cliffs and with clear waters and located between the coves of Montjoi and La Pelosa. It is accessed on foot from the dirt road that goes from Cala Montjoi to Cala Jòncols. The sand is medium-grained and grey in colour. Its waters become deep quickly.
Cala Jòncols
Cala Jòncols is a virgin cove with a wild landscape and steep cliffs, located 18 km from Roses. It is accessed by the coastal road that ends in this cove. The seabed quickly becomes very steep. It is an ideal area for scuba diving. In 2009 it obtained the European EMAS environmental certificate and the international ISO 14.001.
Cala Montjoi
Cala Montjoi is a wide and busy cove, ideal for sheltering boats and for scuba diving. Located 12 km from Roses, it is accessed by the same coastal road that leads to Cala Jòncols. The seabed is very steep. In 2009, it obtained the European EMAS environmental certificate and the international ISO 14.001 certificate.
Cala Murtra
Cala Murtra is a small cove located about 10 km from Roses, solitary and with a wild landscape. Difficult to access by land, it has become a small paradise for those who can get there by boat. Nudism is allowed in this cove. Since 2009 it has had the European EMAS environmental certificate and the international ISO 14.001.
Cala Rustella
Cala Rustella is a small cove that is difficult to access by land. The easiest way to get there is by sea. It is a virgin cove surrounded by cliffs, located about 10 km from Roses. Since 2009 it has had the European EMAS environmental certificate and the international ISO 14.001.
Canyelles Petites Beach
Canyelles Petites beach is a semi-urban residential beach located in the urbanisation of the same name, about 3 km from the town centre of Roses, following the road that goes from the lighthouse to Almadrava. It is a beach of fine golden sand, with transparent waters and a sandy bottom, about 350 metres long by 25 metres wide. A beach that is very popular with bathers because it is protected from the north wind. This beach was certified in 2003 with an EMAS and ISO 14.001 environmental quality system.
L'Almadrava Beach
L'Almadrava Beach is a semi-urban residential beach located about 5 km from the centre of Roses, following the road that runs along the coast from the centre of Roses. It is a beach of fine sand and deep blue waters. It is 500 metres long and about 25 metres wide. It is protected from the mountain wind. This beach has had the EMAS and ISO 14.001 environmental quality certificate since 2003.
Cala Pelosa
Cala Pelosa is located in the shelter of Cape Norfeu, which has a long popular tradition in Roses. It is located 15 km from Roses, along the same coastal road that leads to Cala Jòncols. The seabed is quite steep. In 2009 it obtained the European EMAS environmental certificate and the international ISO 14.001 certificate.
Salatar Beach
Salatar Beach is located on the coastal front of the eponymous urbanisation, which offers a wide variety of commercial, leisure, gastronomic and accommodation establishments. It is a beach approximately 500m long by 35m wide, with fine sand and shallow, clear waters, characteristics that make it one of the busiest. Parallel to the beach is the Paseo Marítimo, where you can do various activities such as walking or cycling. Beach and promenade certified according to European EMAS and international ISO 14.000 regulations, in 2003.
Santa Margarida Beach
Santa Margarida Beach stretches from Salatar Beach to the mouth of the residential marina of Sta. Margarida. It is a long and wide beach, about 550 m long, with fine golden sand and clean, shallow waters. It is a beach that attracts a good number of foreigners, many of whom have their second residence here. The urbanisation of Sta. Margarida is a first-class tourist centre, made up of a marina with more than 15 km of navigable canals and a significant range of accommodation (hotels, campsites and apartments), as well as a varied gastronomic, commercial, leisure and intense nightlife. Next to the beach we find the Paseo Marítimo, to the south of which we find a square with benches and vegetation with views of the “Aiguamolls de l'Empordá”. Since 2003 it has been certified with the EMAS, European environmental certificate and with the international ISO 14.001.
